If your baby or little child doesn’t like the taste of the medication, breastfeed straight after or for a baby older than 6 months give milk, juice or food. Be patient with your child and try and maintain a positive attitude to treatment, but you MUST make sure that your child DOES TAKE the medication. If you or your child have a bad reaction to the medication such as vomiting, diarrhoea, difficulty breathing, bad rash, fever or pain, take him or her back to the clinic. And remember good nutrition is very important in the fight against HIV.
