Research shows that babies in the womb are affected by mum’s emotions and respond when mum feels deeply stressed and unhappy. During pregnancy, it is important for families to support the pregnant mum with lots of tender loving care.

Shouting, abuse and violence in the home also has a deeply damaging effect on babies and children of any age. It has been shown to affect children’s brain development and intelligence, as well as their self-belief and ability to get on with other people.
