Most people do not experience any symptoms when newly infected. However, some people have acute illness with symptoms that last several weeks, including:

  • yellowing of the skin and eyes (jaundice)
  • dark urine
  • extreme fatigue
  • nausea 
  • vomiting
  • abdominal pain.
